I fell in love with Canary wood the first time I saw it and that love affair is still going strong.  Mr. Bobby Williams, Williams Family Mill, expertly crafted this Canary wood base, and I created an open oval shape with two graduated widths of cane and smoked round reed.  Finishing the rim area with Jasper beads complements the base's multi-colored grain and the wrapped rim further elevates this little original beauty.   This one of a kind gem can be displayed flat or angled on a stand to great advantage.  Canary wood from South America is known for its multi-colored grain and cream stripe running down the outside of the tree.  It is strikingly beautiful and a pleasure to work with.  Finished with a light shellac.
