Woven on a custom Canary wood base with three graduated widths of cane in a pattern similar to a lateral herringbone stitch.  An asymetrical opening, typically found in clothing, forms the rim - complete with cane loops and antique black jet glass buttons.  Lashed with a doubled stitch that also brings to mind a knitted loop and an artist dyed round reed bumper, this is truly a unique heirloom.  Finished with shellac.
