Contemplating another path for a classic Josephine knot, I created this dark lovely with three graduated widths of cane and hand-dyed dark reed on a black lacquered base of Red Oak.  The checkerboard and diamond motif accents the open staves and culminates in a bumper and border with a split blanket stitch.  Finished with shellac.  I know Josephine will love holding your interest.
